Cast Stone

Cast stone is a process that has been around for centuries. Most turn of the century buildings with extensive ornate stone motifs are actually made from cast stone. Pre-cast is a generic term that has come to include many different processes that use cement or plaster to replicate a natural stone product. We use a variety of techniques to manufacture our products including GFRC and GFRG.

Traverstone Mantels

Traverstone is a process that HearthCo has developed to produce a tumbled travertine look at an affordable price. Travertine is one of the most popular choices for floor tile, and counters being used in homes today. Traverstone is an excellent complement to anyone looking to achieve the rich, elegant appearance of an old world stone décor. Traverstone is a hand finished product made with a combination of Portland cement and aggregates that can be used indoors or out. Each piece is hand finished providing the variations found in nature to give it the authentic look of tumbled travertine. Colors and textures will vary from piece to piece just like if it was cut out of real travertine.

Paint Grade Mantels

HearthCo paint grade mantels offer a clean slate for you to express your creative side. A practiced faux artist can make a paint grade mantel to look like granite, marble or even wood. A paint grade mantel also offers the ability to change your décor easily and inexpensively as your whim may direct. Our paint grade mantels are made using the highest quality materials and time proven techniques. Using a “hand laid” technique we manufacture a lightweight, extremely durable mantel that is smooth and crisp, ready for paint. Many people are so impressed with the look of the product that they ask, “do I even have to paint it?”. The answer is “yes you do”, painting is an important part of the process to seal the mantel and insure its integrity for years to come.

A wood mantel can blend with many interior themes and withstand the test of time and not “date” a home. Our wood mantels are manufactured by skilled craftsmen using a combination of hardwoods, trims and sheet goods to build a quality product. All wood products are available in both paint grade and stain grade. Stain grade species available are Oak, Alder, Maple, Beech, Walnut, and Cherry. All surrounds and shelves are delivered unfinished and ready for your professional finisher.
